Military pay and benefits data changes on a predictable annual schedule:
January — New base pay tables (annual pay raise effective Jan 1), new BAH rates (published by DTMO each December, effective Jan 1)
December — VA COLA adjustment announced (typically in October, effective December 1). New disability compensation rates published.
As Needed — Legislative changes, mid-year BAH corrections, VA policy updates, funding fee rate changes.
Our process: All rate tables are stored as static JSON data files within the site's codebase. When DFAS/DTMO/VA publishes new rates, we regenerate the data files from official source tables and redeploy the site. This process takes approximately 30 minutes per annual update cycle.
Every page displays a 'Last Updated' notice so you can verify you're seeing current-year rates. If you notice a discrepancy between our calculations and official rates, please contact us — accuracy is the entire point of this site.
