Dual Military BAH Rules

Both spouses active duty with children: one claims with-dependents, other claims without-dependents. Without children: both get without-dependents.

Co-located couples designate which member claims with-dependents — usually whoever has the more favorable rate (higher rank or higher-BAH MHA). This is an administrative choice.

Geobachelor situation (different duty stations): BAH depends on where dependents physically reside. The member with dependents at their location gets with-dependents; the other gets without-dependents at their station's rate. Finance office adjudicates edge cases.
