2026 limit: $23,500 regular contributions. Age 50+ catch-up: additional $7,500 = $31,000 total. Gov matching doesn't count toward your limit.

Deployed to combat zone: tax-exempt contributions have a separate, higher annual additions limit ($70,000). Maximize Roth contributions during deployment — it's one of the most powerful wealth-building moves in the military.

At minimum: contribute 5% to capture full government match. Below 5% = leaving free money.
